How to setup an auto-responder in cPanel?


  • After logging into the cPanel, click Autoresponders under Mail category.

  • Click Add Auto Responder (Note: Auto responders send messages back automatically to anyone who sends an email to a specified account)

  • Fill up necessary information:

    • Character set: In most cases you will leave the character set to utf-8.

    • Interval: Choose your interval time.

    • Email: Enter the email address you want to set an auto-responder for. (Example: user@yourdomain.com)

    • From: Your name.

    • Subject: Your subject (Example: Out of office)

    • Body: Enter your message (Example: I will be away for the next 2 days)



  • Click Create/Modify and you will see a confirmation The auto responder user@yourdomain.com was successfully created.

  • Now when someone sends an email to user@yourdomain.com , the Out of office email will automatically be sent to them.
